Charging the Solar Battery

How to charge the Solar Battery for  the BBC micro:bit.

USB Charging : Connect a USB cable to the USB port. The other end should be connected to a USB charger or any USB device that supplies power.

The Green Charging LED and Green power LED will light up.

When the battery is fully charged the Charging LED will turn off. Charge time may vary between 2 and 8 hours. It is not necessary to charge the battery for 8 hours before starting to use it.

Solar Charging : Connect the solar panel to the unit and place outdoor in an area protected from rain. The solar panel should face South at  a 30 degree angle. The Green Charging LED the and Green power LED will light up.

When the battery is fully charged the Charging LED will turn off. Charge time may vary between 2 and 8 days. Charging is also possible indoors on a window cill. Charge time will be substantially longer.

After charging, the Solar Battery will power the micro:bit for several days.
